    Google maps

Is there any way to be able to copy locations between climbs ? I know you can add another near one you have already done, but it would also be useful to be able to copy locations between climbs. I’ve added a few without putting in locations and it’s really tedious to navigate in the Google interface to go back and edit them manually. Whilst we’re talking about the Google maps interface, does it support adding in basic location finding ? Like adding a postcode or a place name to at least get vaguely in the vicinity before manually navigating in closer ? The satellite footage of the Peaks is brilliant on Google though, really hi-res and you can actually identify individual boulders at Burbage South :)

    RE: Google maps

The location editing has been weighing on my mind for a little while now – what I think I am going to have to do is have a pair of textboxes (one for the lat, one for the long), and allow you to type the lat/long pair in. This would obviously be parallel with the current method of clicking on the map to get to a location.
As for the geocoding aspect, Google recently announced that they were making geocoding available via the Google Maps API, however, the UK (along with China and Japan) are not yet covered by it. I have looked into using other geocoders, but I have found that they all fall short of my expectations. I have not lost all hope of getting a location search into Bouldr, though – in fact, I am planning on having something ready for the release after next.
    Keep ’em coming, MattJ!

    RE: Google maps

Oh, and yeah – the hi-res Google Maps coverage is excellent! Take a look at the Stanage Plantation, too. Even “the Buckstone”:http://bouldr.net/climbs/13/The+Buckstone+Dyno is visible!
