As I was posting a comment on the overhanging arete, just had a thought that it might be interesting to be able to post notes directly onto other people’s climb images ? Don’t know what you think but there might be a crucial bit of beta that someone’s left out, or a new hold which isn’t clear on their notes. On overhanging arete I would have pointed out the slap round the left hand side of the arete once you’ve got your foot up onto the shelf, and the small foot hold under the right hand rib to swing round onto once you are established with both hands around it…. I suppose the difficulty then is identifying who has added in that extra note, and the possiblity of vandalism … what do you think ?
Tricky, though – like you say, the possibility of vandalism is the issue here. Maybe have a method of only applying certain members beta – check boxes so that you can click to add or remove beta from the image?
Yeah, that was where I was thinking – and the person who posted the climb should be able to totally remove other people’s notes. Maybe you could only allow users to add notes to other people’s climbs when they have posted a certain number of climbs of their own, or a feedback rating based on their star ratings ? Perhaps you can outline the notes boxes in different colours on the beta image with tick boxes at the side to indicate who has added it, and allow you to take out the layers ?
